To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Chevrolet Astro, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. I used the Red paint on my Astro Van. I was amazed at how well it matched the 30 year old color. I do have one comment, the base color can nozzle sputtered during application. I was able to apply an even coat of the base color but the sound was not what I expected. The clear coat however was perfect. The spray was consistent and the coverage was great. I will use these products if I have other areas to repair.
