To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Chevrolet S Class, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I used the 98 chevy copper touchup paint for chips, small scratches and one spot on the hood that was about the size of a AAA battery on my hood. I would say this is a close color but it is a bit dark. Looks great in chips but you can tell the difference on bigger stuff. Overall I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. For a 17yr old vehicle with sun fade it matched pretty well. I would buy again. Thanks automotivetouchup!
