To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Mercedes-Benz M Class, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. The color matching of the Automotivetouchup paint was very good. You have to look very closely at the painted mirrors to discern a difference. This was expected since the car is 17 years old. The major difference is the clear coat application. The original clear coat application on the Mercedes is much more shiny than the new application.
