CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1984 Mercedes-Benz M Class, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. The paint code will either be three or four digits. Some times the code will have a prefix of DB but this is not consistant. Click here for Mercedes Benz examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1984 Mercedes-Benz M Class is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Travis T, owner of a 1985 Mercedes-Benz from SC

The color was a perfect match for my Mercedes pastel beige wagon. I was worried that since it was an '85 and spent plenty of time out in the sun that they wouldn't match up right. But, I was wrong. There was only one issue I experienced. This is something I should have researched more thoroughly before I started. I did my entire tailgate/hatch- the exterior side of it. I should have bought 2 cans of paint and 2k clearcoat. It worked, but there are a few spots where you can tell I started to run out and at the end of the can it started to sputter and get spotty. One can of primer did fine. I will be ordering another can of 2k clearcoat, though. The sanding kit was good, but again, I had to go out and buy some more of certain grit as they would get clogged up kind of quick for the coarser ones.

Bee, owner of a 1985 Mercedes-Benz from San Diego, CA

Paint was a perfect match and came within 2 weeks. For an old 1984 Mercedes diesel td300 that was no small feat. I would definitely recommend to friends!
