To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1984 Mercedes-Benz S Class, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I am so elated that I contacted you. The match of the spray can base coat on my original paint 1984 Mercedes 300SD, was exact. The area was a small area on the trunk vertical surface where the aluminum metal had corroded causing the paint to react. I sanded it properly as shown in your videos, sprayed a primer and again smoothed the surface. Then spayed 3 coats of the champagne metallic base coat and followed with 2 light clear coats followed by a heavier final clear.
