CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1989 Jeep Wrangler, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Newer Jeep models usually have the paint code in the door jamb. Most paint codes are three digits long and start with a P or Q and contains letters and/or numbers. Click here for more Jeep paint code locations and paint code images.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1989 Jeep Wrangler is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Tim F, owner of a 1989 Jeep from Golden Valley, AZ

Placed an order after business hours and then realized I had made an error and had omitted one item. Called first thing the next morning and the gal that answered the phone told me my order had already been packed and would be shipped out right away. I explained to her what happened and that I needed one more item and didn't want to pay another shipping charge. She was kind enough to retrieve my package from shipping and added the additional item. As far as I'm concerned, she went above and beyond. Also, the paint was a perfect match.

Zack N, owner of a 1990 Jeep from IL

These guy's are great! I've purchased paint from them multiple times. This time was for my 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I was getting tired of the scraped up paint that the Jeep had under the woodgrain on the doors and the quarter panels. I was also getting sick of the rocker panels that were rusted out. So, I fixed that all up, got rid of the rust and sanded down the paint it had before. It was interesting finding paint for the wagon. It's a 1990 model, but the vin number and all the codes (including paint code) were arranged as a 1991 model year. After I figure that out, I purchased the "Black Cherry Pearl Coat" and AT's own clear coat in the aerosol cans. I got the metal all prepped for paint and finally painted it last week. It looked great, even with just the paint on it. I got the clear on it, and it just "pops"! Now it looks too good to be driving it around like a Jeep! This paint matches pretty good, not perfect but good. The rest of the paint on the upper half is just too worn in comparison. I just gotta say, I am quite happy with this. It looks great!
