CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1985 Subaru (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for Subaru paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1985 Subaru (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Fred J, owner of a 1985 Subaru from Hernando, FL

This car was built before the base and clear coat finishes. Color match was close.

Harry S, owner of a 1986 Subaru from Spokane Valley, WA

Great product and a perfect match to the original paint. Would highly recommend.

Barry K, owner of a 2020 Subaru Legacy from West Yarmouth, MA

The paint match up for the Tungsten Metallic paint on our 2020 Subaru Legacy is perfect, can't tell where the factory paint stops and the Automotive Touchup begins. Excellent, seamless match!
