To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Saturn SL2, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker called Parts Identification. After having my 98 Saturn for many years, I noticed the hood finish fading and later began to see small rust spots. Automotivetouchup had the best choice in products for matching car paint. I purchased spray cans of basecoat and clearcoat. The hood was sanded, primed and painted. I underestimated the amount of basecoat needed and decided to purchase a pint of basecoat. This was painted with a spray gun. Now with the clearcoat applied, the hood looks great.
