To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Saturn SL1, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker called Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. The saturn w260b green is a "pine" green. The touchup version of this color seems to not have quite enough blue in it (or too much yellow). The color is very close, but not exact. If you put enough touchup paint on, can make it dark enough.. and with four or five coats of clear 2k max, can make the shine deep enough that the color difference is not detectable from 20 feet. Up-close inspection, the color difference is only slightly noticeable. As green is one of the hardest colors to match, I am very impressed. Overall this is a great product and I will buy it again.

After having my 98 Saturn for many years, I noticed the hood finish fading and later began to see small rust spots. Automotivetouchup had the best choice in products for matching car paint. I purchased spray cans of basecoat and clearcoat. The hood was sanded, primed and painted. I underestimated the amount of basecoat needed and decided to purchase a pint of basecoat. This was painted with a spray gun. Now with the clearcoat applied, the hood looks great.
