CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1978 Porsche 911 Carrera, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for Porsche paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Did you choose the wrong vehicle model?

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1978 Porsche 911 Carrera is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

John W, owner of a 1978 Porsche 911 Carrera from Denver, CO

The Porsche color code 107 (continental orange) that I ordered did a satisfactory job of matching the car's paint. In low light, i.e., morning or early evening, the color match is good. At high noon in direct light the paint seems to lean too much to the red spectrum, it clearly shows up darker than the existing paint. But just to be fair, without a color sample to compare to it can be difficult to get an exact match. Additionally, the car received a new paint job a few years back and even though the paint shop is the same one used by Prestige Porsche in Lakewood, it is possible that they used a different variance. So no hard feelings. Thanks for trying.

Bill C, owner of a 1978 Porsche 911 Carrera from Northwood, NH

I was pleasantly surprised to find the proper paint code and color for my 1978 Porsche. I haven’t applied it yet but Im looking forward to getting the needed touch up on some spots and having the clear coat to protect it too. Thanks you!

B Louie, owner of a 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera from San Francisco, CA

My Porsche with original paint is over 36 years old. I was afraid that I would not be able to find any matching touch up paint. I took a chance and ordered from Automotive Touchup using the factory paint number. I ordered some touch up paint and a touch up pen. My order was shipped very quickly and matched almost perfectly. Of course my car's paint isn't as bright as it was originally. I am totally pleased with Automotive Touchup and recommended them to many friends.
