CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1996 Nissan Pathfinder, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for Nissan paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1996 Nissan Pathfinder is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Nik , owner of a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder from Knoxville, TN

Items ordered came a bit earlier than projected, well packaged and most importantly...paint matched excellent. Very satisfied customer and plan to recommend and use again in the future!

Margaret K, owner of a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder from Freeport, NY

I was a little worried about the color match, but it was perfect. Great web site and ordering was a breeze. Would definitely recommend them.

Juan E, owner of a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder from White Plains, NY

I use this paint. Works perfect for my car. Thank you

Victoria H, owner of a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder from Warrenton, VA

Wow! Spot on colors for my 96 pathfinder and 99 Camry. Looks like I took to an actual detail shop! Few touch ups and had to spray the car hood. I was worried it wouldn't look right but wow, what a match and difference. I'm so pleased with the paint and color match. Only thing to remember is that you must get the clear coat for after painting! Thank you

Mary M, owner of a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder from Lawrence, KS

We have a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder that we bought new. It had one spot behind the back passenger door that was rusty and getting worse. I ordered the primer/paint/clear coat, and intended to just "put a bandaid on it". I mentioned it to a friend of mine, and he offered to do a little body work (not professional but better than I could do). It looks really good to me. I am sorry that I did not take before/after photos. The paint color matched very well, even though the car is 21 years old. Thanks!

Bobby T, owner of a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder from Gatesville, TX

This is my first time to use basecoat and clear coat out of a can and I am very pleased with the color match and ease of application. I am retired one arm person 72 years old living in low income housing and had to repair my pathfinder outside in the parking spot in front of my apartment. I have a few pics but their on my phone and I'll try to send them to you. My left front fender was wrinkled and rusty and I don't like bondo but I used bondo glass and no power tools so I amazed a few of my friends but didn't expect it to come out with the finish I got. I have done body n paint for years in my own shop but would never think of using an aresol can before now. The back rt side had clear coat peeling off and it looks like new now. Thank you for such a good quality product. Bob Thomson
