CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1968 Mercedes-Benz C Class, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. The paint code will either be three or four digits. Some times the code will have a prefix of DB but this is not consistant. Click here for Mercedes Benz examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1968 Mercedes-Benz C Class is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Walmir D, owner of a 1968 Mercedes-Benz from Fort Lauderdale, FL

Excellent match ,far better than any competitor, very good painting quality, considering that this Mercedes is almost 45 years old I was amazed with the precise match...Thanks

Ralph N, owner of a 1969 Mercedes-Benz from Birmingham, AL

The color Mercedes Benz 291 for my 280sl is a good match. I am not expert enough to get the full benefit. I used the rattle cans to repaint a couple of wheel covers I had stripped. I used with the primer and perhaps I applied a little to much. Where I masked the Star and around the masked edge it does not feather out. I may try a little rubbing compound. My masking skills aren’t the greatest! I repaired some small scrapes and scratches on original color hubcaps with your paint from the screw cap bottles. Again the build is a little high and I can’t sand these places without ruining the original finish. From a few feet away they look ok.
