To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1961 Mercedes-Benz (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. I received the touch up paint and prepared the damaged area on the car with an epoxy filler then applied several layers of primer paint. Sanded the area then applied the finish color. It worked out great and looks fine. The total operation was done in an afternoon and your products saved me about 300 dollars if I would have gone to a repair shop to have the job done by them. The finish supplied color blended in with the original color of the car. The front lower edge of the car had been scrapped while the car was parked in a parking lot.
