Restore Your 1961 Mercedes-Benz (All Models) Finish In Two Steps

Select Your Mercedes-Benz's Color (Step One)

AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1961 Mercedes-Benz (All Models) using a basecoat/clearcoat system just like factory specs. To insure a proper match, you’ll need to know your vehicle’s color code, so you can find it on the chart below. The code on your identificaiton sticker will normally have many numbers in it with no prefix identifying a number as a paint code. The paint code will either be three or four digits. Some times the code will have a prefix of DB but this is not consistant. Click here for Mercedes Benz examples.

Please note: The 'All Models' pages sometimes have a large amount of results to scroll through, if your vehicle's model is in the list of options on the prior screen we recommend trying that first.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1961 Mercedes-Benz (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

John, owner of a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL Class from Nashville, TN

This is absolutely one of the greatest product packages I have ever purchased. I ordered three 12 ounce Aerosol Cans (Grey Primer, Base Coat Color and Gloss Clear Coat) and they arrived exactly as promised; well packaged against damage and to my door in the time expected. I purchased these products to repair the lower front valance of my 2003 Mercedes Benz SL500, which I have owned since 2002, and is in Brilliant Silver Metallic (which is not the easiest color to match). The valance (which is a type of plastic) had been scraped and torn slightly against a concrete parking stop, so I repaired the tear with epoxy, sanded and prepped the area and began the painting process. I am not a painter, but just reasonably handy, so I followed the instructions and time-limit recommendations to a "t." The primer was forgiving (and I wet-sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper), then the base color went on beautifully with a perfect match. I even used the little cardboard piece included to check the match before applying it to my car and the dry test patch could be placed my hood with identical color. It was not until the gloss clear went on that the valance literally looked as if it was from the factory. I really recommend following the instructions exactly, layering very light coats and not getting too impatient. The result will be incredible!
