CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Newer Jeep models usually have the paint code in the door jamb. Most paint codes are three digits long and start with a P or Q and contains letters and/or numbers. Click here for more Jeep paint code locations and paint code images.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

The color matches well but it is flat not glossy. Will need a clear coat.

Awesome paint, it was a perfect match for my 97 jeep zj. And it was so easy to apply the spray nozzle made it overlap perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the finish.

Ivar Haug, owner of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Milford, DE

Very pleased with the paints. The spray paint 213C for my 1996 Cadillac was a perfect match. Body shop up the street said he could not have done a better job. Now I am painting the lower parts of the doors on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it looks professional. And I purchased the pistol grip for the spray can at I will highly recommend this tool. The paint arrived in three days and free shipping, what a service!! Thanks AutoMotiveTouchUp!! Ivar Haug Milford, DE

Blake U, owner of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Santa Rosa, CA

It works very well, the color is close enough to the factory paint that you can hardly tell the difference.

Ronald S, owner of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Taos, NM

My wife's '97 Grand Cherokee's black paint was peeling the clear coat in the hot desert sun for the past two years and starting to look so bad she was embarrassed to drive it. After sanding, I used the black primer from you and the black base coat which was a perfect match, and then the clear coat. Left dry for a couple of days then used a 10 inch buffer with compound and then the polishing compound and it came out looking great. I applied some new Jeep emblems on the front of the hood and now the Grand Cherokee looks brand new and she is proud to drive it. I have already recommended you to a friend once he saw the results.

Terry L Gronberg, owner of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Richmond, Indiana

Your customer service is excellent. To warranty and back up your products with fast efficient and professional yet personal care is unequaled and much appreciated. It is good to know that your company is as good as your products!! Thank you so much and you will be my paint supplier from now on. Sincerely, Terry L Gronberg

Bryant S, owner of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Lincoln City, OR

Awesome, perfect match to the color! I bought my vehicle from my brother who rarely drove it. One day a person backed into his passenger side door. This left a huge dent that he never fixed. I fixed it and used your paint. It provided a perfect match, and you can't even tell where the dent was.
