To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 GMC Suburban, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I still need to use a clear coat to give it a better glossy shine, but for the moment I am very happy with the result. Twenty year old, DARK BLUE, without a paint code from mfg. in door jamb info, color match pretty darn close in an area of paint loss, not real noticeable. Real pleased with the aerosol dispenser, but cleaned nozzle after each coat to prevent clogging or spatter. Paint went on smoothly, but my bad, failed to order the CLEAR COAT as well...did so shortly after I realized my mistake. Back to the masking process. Good product, well packaged. But these guys have been in the touch up business since the Last Supper...no wonder their stuff is GOOD...
