To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. I have had a few blue vehicles over the years and always struggled with touch-up paint for rock chips that would match anywhere close including GM on a 2003 Impala. Latest vehicle is a 2016 Equinox with Patriot Blue that I believe was only used for maybe 2 years? Tried this company and they had the correct code but a different name than Patriot Blue. I was a little leery but the paint pen matched very well to cover 3 small rock chips on my hood. I also purchased the clear coat but will have to wait for warmer weather to apply that as I was lucky to have a decent day to just touch up the nicks to protect the hood from road salt.

I had a truck pass me going in the opposite direction and it kicked up something that hit my left front fender leaving a 1/2 inch scratch that went down to the metal and three more less significant abrasion marks about 1/2 inch long in the paint. I ordered a bottle of touch-up paint that matched my 2016 Equinox's paint code and applied 3 coats of paint to the scratches. The color was a perfect match. Except for the slight indentation made by the object that hit my fender, the damage is hard to spot, even in direct sunlight. I am very pleased with the quality of the paint and the color match.
