To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1999 Chevrolet Kodiak, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I ordered the 12 oz can for my 2002 Volvo s-60. It matches perfectly. Obviously due to sun bleaching the original paint on the vehicle will be lighter, like the hood or trunk top. But still, it blends in so well you have to look twice. However you should follow-up with a clear coat to bring out the shine. But if you are using the paint on a car that doesn't have to be perfect it's a great fast drying paint. I've bought 3 different color paints for various spot work jobs on cars I have and they all match to the factory specs. My most recent purchase was for a 2000 Chevy Prizm I am working on, it's a great blend even at 20 years out.
