CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Chevrolet Medium Duty, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1998 Chevrolet Medium Duty is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Dan Lacey, owner of a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro from Austin, TX

Just added a tall spoiler to my 1999 Camaro. Painted it w/ your aerosol can Base and Clearcoat. The shine is so intense it out shines the factory paint on the rest of the car. I'm now in the process of buying a spray gun and a few gallons of your base and clear to do the rest of the car. I've not seen better color or quality for $5000 or more. You guys have saved me thousands.............I'll send pictures of the finished product. BTW; this is the first time I've taken on the entire job myself; and I have all the confidence I need to do this right thanks to ATU............... ;-)

Mark S, owner of a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu from Sammamish, WA

ATU made it very easy to find the matching spray paint I needed for three different vehicles. Getting the clearcoat and sandpaper variety pack was also convenient. I appreciated the detailed instructions on the paint cans and on the sandpaper (what grit to use when).
