To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1996 Chevrolet Caprice, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I find that the match is pretty good............ just a bit darker......... so that the metal flake does not shine through...... so it is more noticeable where you painted. Because these cans are higher pressure than most competitors, the match is better. If it had even higher pressure, the color would come out lighter.......... and the metal flake would shine through. Overall, an A- rating. Unless I buy a paint gun and mix it myself, you won't get the match any closer that your product!
