CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1996 Chevrolet Cobalt, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1996 Chevrolet Cobalt is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Jerry, owner of a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban from Boston area

This is one great place to shop for automotive paint & supplies. I've been a faithful customer for many years. Fantastic paint, you get exact match results; can't tell the difference, even for older cars/trucks (I use for both). I've now progressed to spray painting using automotive touch up paint. The paint come premixed which eliminates a major problem for non-professionals. I'm now doing entire doors, hood and side panels, etc. with virtually all supplies from Automotive Touch Up. They got everything you need and a lot more including tutorials. You need everything from the same source. I'm hooked, happy customer.

Al Z, owner of a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban from Midland, MI

I sold automotive paint & supplies from 1977 until 1987 when I took a 30+ year factory job, so I know a little about auto paint. I was more than impressed with the color match, particularly the aerosol can of touch up for my 96 Jeep. All was spot on match, all was shipped timely, and all was a fair price for what I received. The job I did on the 96 Jeep turned out fantastic, better than I anticipated. Actually enjoyed being back in the trenches and plan on doing some more minor body work. Will be using these fine people again. Thanks for everything.
