CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1985 BMW 3-SERIES Cabrio, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The paint code can be located underneath the hood near the front strut tower, on the firewall, or the passenger side wheel housing. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1985 BMW 3-SERIES Cabrio is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Frank G, owner of a 1986 BMW from Peoria, IL

I bought this paint for a specific project of a vintage race car model. The car is 1/43 scale 1962 BRM P56 F1 racecar. It was a unique metallic green and my research in reference photos and written material was that the BMW Platanengruen Metallic 188 was the best match. I decanted the paint to an airbrush bottle and used it without any further thinning. The paint flowed nicely and I got a very nice result. I used 2 coats of Seymour Hi-tech clear with an excellent outcome. I do have a lot left over since the car is only a 1/43 scale.

Mark, owner of a 1986 BMW 3-Series from Grosse Pointe Farms, MI

Very good match for the original 30 year old paint - BMW Alpine White 146 - I could not find a better match.
