CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1958 AMC (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the AMC paint code location chart.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1958 AMC (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Mark L, owner of a 1957 AMC from Pottsville, PA

The color was spot on and the paint worked perfectly on my 57 Rambler. I'd like to see custom color matches as well available.

Richard H, owner of a 1968 AMC from Arnold, MO

When I first placed my order I screwed up the internet order and then called. What a nice lady and a lot of help total experience 10 out of 10. I'll be back.

Scott P, owner of a 1968 AMC from Boise, ID

The Matador Red base coat and clear coat matched perfectly in the engine bay touch-up and trunk touch-up. Also bought the pen applicator version for various nicks and it also worked and matched well. I would highly recommend any products purchased from AutomotiveTouchup! Scott Boise, ID
