CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Volkswagen Polo, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The paint code is normally located in the back compartment panel in the trunk. Click here for Volkswagen paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1998 Volkswagen Polo is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

John S, owner of a 1999 Volkswagen New Beetle from Potomac, MD

The touch up was so good that my friend wanted to do their whole car because it was the one nicely finished surface left. Great product and beautiful clear.

Mark C, owner of a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta from Belmont, MI

Great products.. Color match was quite good for a 14 year old car... I ran short of clear coat on my project, so went to the local automotive supply to pick up another quart... that was a mistake, both products were the lacquer gloss, but the Automotive Touch Up product was far superior to the locally purchased product. I'm now looking at re-clear coating with Automotive Touch Up product ..(but not looking forward to the re-taping & applying...) to make it look right. Automotive Touch Up Gloss is exceptional, other brand was a step above semi-gloss leaving my car looking unprofessional. I'm not a professional auto body repair guy, but Automotive Touch Up product is the way to go for us DIY auto body type... I ordered the quarts for spraying in my cup sprayer.
