CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1998 Toyota Matrix, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. The code will have a C/TR in front of it. A typical code will look like C/TR: 1D4/FH13, and 1D4 would be the color code in this example. Click here for Toyota paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1998 Toyota Matrix is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Georgia P, owner of a 1999 Toyota Avalon from West Palm Beach, FL

I had to replace the driver's side door latch. Instead of having the body shop paint the handle, I ordered the spray paint and top coat. It was easy to do and looks fantastic. The color is a perfect match.

Ryan S, owner of a 1999 Toyota Avalon from Wisconsin

Overall, the results were very good for the price. This was the only site that I could find my factory paint color of Vintage Rose Metallic. The color was very close to the original color, but just not faded like the rest of the car (not their fault). Just ended up having to blend with the old paint around it to make it pretty much noticeable, but it didn't take much. It had all the little metal flakes that the factory paint had, which was impressive from a spray can. Once it was wet sanded and buffed, the clear coat looked and felt like the original. I would definitely recommend.
