CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Toyota Solara, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. The code will have a C/TR in front of it. A typical code will look like C/TR: 1D4/FH13, and 1D4 would be the color code in this example. Click here for Toyota paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 Toyota Solara is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Cord, owner of a 1998 Toyota Sienna from FL

My car has a metallic green original paint job. I was worried that the patch I made would not match. But it matched perfectly. With a little added clearcoat, the patch blended in completely.

Joel S, owner of a 1998 Toyota T100 from Orangevale, CA

I wanted to repair some minor damage on my 1998 T100. My truck is well used so I chose the cheaper spray can product and wasn't super concerned about how well it would match or turn out. All I can say is I'm very impressed. The color match is amazing. My only challenge was blending the clear coat however I'm sure if I had a better power buffer or was willing to put a little more time and effort into it I could blend it better but hey this is a truck used like a truck. That being said unless I point it out no one will ever see it. As it is I have to get within a foot to see it. I couldn't be happier.
