CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Toyota 4Runner, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. The code will have a C/TR in front of it. A typical code will look like C/TR: 1D4/FH13, and 1D4 would be the color code in this example. Click here for Toyota paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 Toyota 4Runner is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Jerry B, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Irvine, CA

Highly recommend. Ordering the ‘kit’ seems like the best deal. Follow the easy instructions and you will end up with a quality looking paint job. Much better paint than the big box auto stores.

Jeremy G, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Colmar, PA

I will never buy paint from another company but this one. Paint was a dead on match for my truck. I was super impressed. I'm a small dealer and fix cars and repaint them. I tried to go the cheap route and order paint already made on ebay. But didn't even match and had to do it all over. Do yourself a favor and order from this company it took about 2 weeks for it to get to me, it's well worth it in the end. The only thing I wish that I got a notification when they shipped it. If that's the worst thing I'll take it.

Darryl F, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Westerly, RI

I was afraid that my color being metallic would make for a mismatch, but it was perfect! Also, it was much easier to spray with more consistent coverage than hardware store rattle cans I have used in the past. And they were right--the clearcoat makes it all look professional. Now I wish the rest of my car looked as good. It was also more expensive, but worth it--I would definitely buy from Automotive touchup again.

Thang L, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Milwaukee, WI

The paint matched perfectly! Thanks!

Thaddeus S, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Woodstown, NJ

I was very pleased with the color match on my Desert Dune Metallic Toyota 4Runner. Once the clear coat was applied the end result was perfect. I would definitely recommend this product to family and friends.

Brian C, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Shelley, ID

I painted the front driver's side fender because the clear coat was peeling. I sanded it down and painted it. Keep in mind to get the 3 to 4 coats of clear coat you'll need about two spray cans of clear coat to one can of base coat. I had to order more clear coat. The color was a perfect match once I got the layers of clear coat applied. The paint seemed to apply with out running and was a high quality paint.

Tom S, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Dundee, OR

I painted a front fender on a 97 4runner. The paint was a good match. It was easy to apply. Auto body shop wanted $300 and I spent $45 on your products. I am very happy the aerosol spray paint for the Toyota. I also purchased the paint pens for a 2012 Vw Passat for rock chip repairs. It was alright.

WMC, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Newport, AR

Very pleased with paint match and quality of the product.

Thomas P, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Temecula, CA

Excellent color match, blended perfectly with existing paint thanks so much saved me a lot of headaches and time. Will use you guys again if needed in the future.

Zach, owner of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner from Newark, DE

I used the aerosol can to paint my replacement tailgate and after some buffing it looks amazing. The color is a dead on match.
