CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1992 Toyota Starlet, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. The code will have a C/TR in front of it. A typical code will look like C/TR: 1D4/FH13, and 1D4 would be the color code in this example. Click here for Toyota paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1992 Toyota Starlet is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

William N, owner of a 1993 Toyota Truck from Luray, VA

I am the original owner of this pickup. I sold it to my brother-in-law in 1996. He used it as a second vehicle so twenty-one years later it is still in really good shape and has less than 100,000 miles on it. It had a few minor dents in it and it did need a paint job. We had it estimated at two different places and it ended up that it was going to be around $3,500.00. The vehicle is not worth spending that kind of money on it so I offered to paint it. The dents were easy and I spent quite a bit of time prepping. Skip helped me out with the paint and we have about $500.00 in it. This job turned out so well it is almost comical. Yes I painted a truck in the garage with aerosol paint cans, base coat, clear coat. After I let the paint dry for a month I wet sanded it with 2000 grit paper and did some light buffing. As soon as it warms up I will finish the buffing and put some wax on it. Everybody who has looked at this can not believe it was painted with aerosol cans. Yes I did spent a lot of time prepping but it is one of those projects that I get a lot of compliments on. No drips, no runs, no errors.
