I had a large (1 inch by 1/4 inch gouge down to the primer} on the crease of the hood where it turned down towards the fender on my 20119 Subaru Ascent in Blue Pearl metallic. This damage was probably caused by a stone flying up from the pavement. I applied two coats of the pigment followed by a coat pf the gloss to bring the defect up to the level of the surrounding paint. The color match is perfect and while clearly one can see the repair, it is far less noticeable than it was. I am very pleased with the end result.
