CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2018 Subaru Ascent, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for Subaru paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2018 Subaru Ascent is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Peter G, owner of a 2017 Subaru Legacy from Perkasie, PA

What a relief that the color matched. I purchased a touch up bottle from the dealership and the color just didn't match. Unfortunately I needed to sand and spray but the results were great. I watched a few videos on UTube which helped a lot for how to make the spray finish along with spraying the clear. That time spent was worth me doing the job rather than paying a professional. I have painted cars in the past but not a touch up blend which was why I needed the paint this time.

Fredric B, owner of a 2017 Subaru Legacy from Merion Station, PA

The color matches perfectly and the applicator pen is a convenient way to dispense it. It's a bit tricky to apply it to slender scratches because the tip isn't fine enough, but it's easy to learn how to do it anyway. The big problem is that the tip gradually dries out over time despite the cap. Unless there's some way to re-dissolve the paint in the tip, there's no way to use the pen and it has to be thrown out. This is a very expensive waste. [ATU Note: The removable tip can be soaked in acetone, xylene, lacquer thinner, or MEK if you wish to clean it, and the tip can be replaced if needed.]
