Somebody stole my driver side mirror housing. I came out of the office and it was gone. No evidence of it getting hit at all. No debris at all and no damage to the slots that the missing parts snap into. I called my dealer's parts department to inquire about replacement parts and they promised to get back to me. That never happened. Instead their service department called and told me to bring the car in and they could take care of it for 350. I said "No Thank You!" I ordered the parts online from a Subaru Dealer in Milford Connecticut and had both pieces 2 days later in NY. The larger piece needed paint since it only came in black. I Found AutomotiveTouchup online and found that I could order a small paint kit with the exact OEM components for may make, model and year. It consisted of a base coat, an intermediate coat and a clear coat that arrived in separate cans. I followed the instructions to the "T" and the result was superb. I defy anyone to tell the difference between the passenger side housing and the driver's side housing.
Even with the component costs, the paint, the shipping and the tax, my total cost was about 130. A bit better than the 350 + tax the dealer would have hit me with - plus I didn't lose use of the car while they would have had it in the shop.

Color matched well on my 2017 Forester Silver Ice Metallic. I had a few rock chips on the front bumper, A pillar and roof. On one area a small amount of rust was starting to form, so I got a fiberglass sanding pen with a small tip and was able to remove the rust before painting. After cleaning each area with solvent, I used a micro applicator to paint the base coat and then a clear coat. 3 base coats a 1 clear coat total. I think I will wait about a month before applying any polishing. So, far I'm happy with the results.

Found it difficult to use, liquid did not flow onto pen easily had to keep on pressing to get enough. Color match was perfect. Next time (if necessary) will use spray paint.
