The color match is quite good and the application went well. My issue is the fact that the surface does not have luster or shine as the surrounding paint does. Am I to repeat, expecting to bring up the shine or is there something else I should do bring the area up to match the shine of the rest of the car? Is there a clear coat step that I missed? [ATU Note: Clearcoat is required as you suspected.]

I've used this paint for several vehicles over the past few years... my friends can't believe the results that I have achieved from a "rattle can" job! Get the primer, base & clear - take your time and use many light coats, and you'll have great results. The color has been perfect every time!

I used Automotive Touchup to repair a scratch on my 2011 Subaru Outback. Because of the cars color it took primer, a base coat, a top coat, then clear coat. The process was very straight forward, the instructions easy to understand. The end result was like the scratch never happened.

The color match for my 2011 Subaru Outback was spot on. I particularly liked the test card that comes with the paint shipment. While I have had more than average auto painting experience, I appreciated the directions and cautions on the card and the spray cans. I am certain that anyone who carefully prepares the surface to be painted will be satisfied with the results.
