To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2000 Saturn SL1, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker called Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Paint color was perfect. However, I had a difficult time spraying the lacquer to get an even finish. This may be due to high humidity at the time - about 65%. Overall, the project turned out OK, but not the perfect result I was looking for. Perhaps it would take a slight buffing to even out the lacquer. I am open to some advice from you as to what type of finish wax or polish to use to even out the lacquer. The Bandit respirator mask worked very well - will never do a spray job again without it.
