CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1978 Saab (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for Saab paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1978 Saab (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Brad S, owner of a 2001 Saab 9-3 from Westfield, IN

I have used your products in the past and have been very satisfied with them. I haven't used my recent order as it is still a little bit to cool outside. I will be ordering more in the very near future and will be contacting sales about painting over that ever forgetting black plastic. I have had it with all the dyes out there because they don't last especially on parts on the front end. I hope you have something that will work. Brad Svatek

Greg S, owner of a 2001 Saab 9-5 from Yorktown Heights, NY

Used primer, base coat and clear coat to spray the hood and bumpers of my daughters Saab. I have never done any of this before, but with all the materials and tutorials available here plus a few more from the internet I completed the task and Damn I am impressed with the results. the match was spot on and the finish was Gorgeous! I might not even sell the car now it looks so good!

Bruce S, owner of a 2002 Saab 9-3 from Half Moon Bay, CA

Saab is now defunct as a car company and brand, but at least for touch-ups, that won't matter. The color matched better than the paint for some of my previous four Saabs that was purchased directly from a dealer. You do have to be patient with the shipping, however.
