To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. Used products to paint plastic lower body side moulding that runs the length of the area below the doors. It's about 8 feet by 5". First time using your primer and it worked perfectly. The colour match was spot on and the finished product is as good or better than new. One thing about doing it yourself, you know how much clear coat is there and that helps when polishing out road rash (the moulding gets hammered in the winter by salt and sand.

As a novice when it comes to body repair, I decided to take on some rocker panel rust on my sons 2001 vehicle. I figured I couldn't do too much damage since, for the most part, what I was working with would not be visible, other than that portion that extends up the side of the car, meeting time bottom of the door.
