To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2001 Pontiac Firebird, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. The paint was a match but maybe I didn't know how to apply it because they were thin long scratches and doesn't look as good as I expected. I bought the pens. Maybe we needed something different. At least the scratches are not that obvious anymore in a way because they were white and know they are there but in other color. I don't know if you know what I mean.. No instructions for how to apply it for the type of scratch that you have!
