CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code will be located on a sticker named Parts Identification. The code can start with BC/CC followed by a U, or a WA with a four digit number/letter combination. We use the WA format for simplicity, your code may have a U. WA8555 is the same as U8555. Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Greg, owner of a 1997 Pontiac Firebird from Overland Park, Kansas

I'm very happy with the results I got using the spray cans of touch up paint. I ended up using more than I planned, but that was my fault. I kept finding areas I wanted to fix. In retrospect, I probably should have bought a quart instead. My car is GM Artic White, and this paint came much closer to the factory color than their major competitor's. That being said, if you paint the part off the car, or have a hard line, you will see a difference. So I recommend painting the part on the car and blending into the original paint. If you blend it right, no one will notice. I'm glad I found this paint!

Bill C, owner of a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix from Livonia, MI

You folks at AutomotiveTouchUp definitely knows your stuff. Your paint exactly matched the color on my Grand Prix. Once I applied the clearcoat, you could barely tell the difference. Also, you get quite the bang for your buck in terms of quality. It took me about a can and a half to cover my decklid, and despite paying $40 for the paint, I saved about four times that over taking it into a paint shop. I'll definitely recommend your paint to my friends and I'm very likely to buy from you again. Keep it up and continue expanding your color library!
