CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2025 Polestar Polestar 3, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2025 Polestar Polestar 3 is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Ordering was a breeze and shipping was fast! The products were all nicely packaged with no leaks, spills, or missing items. Due to life, it took me a few weeks to get everything lined up to tackle the decent sized, deep scratch on my passenger side fender (2"x .25") as well as the front lower bumper (scratched and dinged from the 30 years of driving). From an amateur's perspective, the paint and additional products I purchased seemed to be of good quality. My biggest concern was the prep work so I spent a decent amount of time making sure the scratches and dings were all properly filled/sanded/and smooth before applying primer then paint. Overall, not hard but tedious. I believe I applied 3 coats of primer, 3 of color, and 3-4 of clear. Once it was all done and properly dried, I wet sanded with 1500, 2000, and 3000, then Ultra Cut Compound. The results are really good (for an amateur and home job). The paint color was nearly perfect... the big difference being new paint vs 30 year old, faded paint. Overall, I recommend paint/company this to anyone adventurous enough to paint their own repairs! My next project, a 1993 Mercedes 300D (color 199), is nearly ready for paint so I will be back.
