CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1974 Nissan (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for Nissan paint code location diagrams and label examples.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1974 Nissan (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Bradley J, owner of a 1974 Nissan from Stow, OH

Great color match.

Patricia J, owner of a 2006 Nissan Sentra from Somerset, NJ

Very good match and easy to do. So good I could hardly find the touch up places so I could put the clear coat on.

Beth M, owner of a 2006 Nissan 350Z from Saint Louis, MO

We had a heavy lift, to match a very unique paint color on the 350Z which was originally called Interlagos Fire Metallic. The base coat for paint code "L4" from Automotive Touchup came probably as close as we were going to find, not perfect, the original color had just a tad more bronze in it, but it is pretty darn close. We got the 'kit' which came with primer, sand paper, base and top coat, and the putty, so it was very convenient. Although we did need to get glazing compound locally which didn't come with the kit. That helped clean up any little flaws in the putty. The clear coat with the kit was not nearly as shiny as the original finish on our Z, that was the only issue. Even using recommended buffing of the clear coat at the end did not result in a matching sheen, but I am hoping in 30 days after everything has cured, that a coat or two of good quality wax will remedy the shine difference. Pricing; delivery time and quality was all good. We had about a 2" long scratch at the wheel well and doing the repairs ourselves definitely saved a bunch of money, so all in all we are satisfied.
