CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2001 Mercury Marauder, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for a Mercury paint code location diagram and label example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2001 Mercury Marauder is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Marilyn M, owner of a 2002 Mercury Cougar from Muskegon, MI

Received the spray paint and decided I wanted to try it right away--can't believe the match, it's perfect, you can't even tell. I had a small spot by the tire well 2" x 1" and it covered perfect--so glad I ordered this.

Jim C, owner of a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer from Las Vegas, NV

I used your paint and clear coat to try covering up a lot of scratches on the dark blue on sides and some on front of hood.paint was ok and then I applied the clear. Clear wasn't working out well (was streaking. I used a new very sharp single razor blade on and angle and carefully scraped off the clear over the blue. if careful you can do that and not harm other paint. then over all that I used wet 1500 sandpaper lightly over all the scratch areas. Them used very good car polish and buffed. Repeated that several times. Now it looks great, considering the car is 12 years old. Also had almost no dents and wasn't repainted before.
