CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1996 Mercury Tracer, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for a Mercury paint code location diagram and label example.

Did you choose the wrong vehicle model?

Did you choose the wrong model? How about the 1996 Mercury Cougar, Grand Marquis, Marauder, Mariner, Mariner Hev, Milan, Montego, Monterey, Mountaineer, Mystique, Sable, Topaz, or Villager?  If you're still not sure, take a look at our All 1996 Mercury Models page.  Or, just go to our page dedicated to Mercury Touch Up Paint

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1996 Mercury Tracer is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Larry R, owner of a 1996 Mercury Cougar from Grafton, WI

The paints matched very well. I'm very pleased with your products. I would order again from your company. Thanks, Larry

Lee T, owner of a 1997 Mercury Cougar from Tularosa, NM

A friend and I have decided to "Detail" vehicles and purchased a 1997 Cougar to resell. The car is in pretty good shape, but, the doors and hood had some small chips that were noticeable and distracted from the whole beauty of the car. It is Brilliant White Pearl. We ordered the two oz. bottle of the pearl white, which automatically comes with a 2 oz. bottle of base coat. The color match was amazing and we will buy future paint from automotivetouchup.com again. We are very satisfied. Lee T/Tulie NM.
