CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1980 Mazda Mpv, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb or on the firewall. Click here for Mazda paint code locations and a label example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1980 Mazda Mpv is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Barry P, owner of a 1979 Mazda from Bel Air, MD

I was skeptical as to how well the paint would match based on the age of my car and the rarity of the paint (only 3K copies made), but it matched really well. I will definitely use you guys again in the future. Thanks!

Richard P, owner of a 2003 Mazda Protege 5 from Oakland, CA

Just finished up repainting the delaminated spoiler and damaged tailgate plastic insert above the license plate and man does it look great. The color match is exact and following the video and written guides made this job a breeze that saved me $100's I easily went through the 12oz spray cans of primer, base and clear coat. So now I know how much to get when I do my front bumper down the road. Did have a problem where the adhesion promoter caused the original factory primer coat to bubble up, so I went back and sanded it down to the bare plastic. Will let the clear coat cure and do a wet sand with 2000 grit and then polish it up. Very, Very Happy. Great products, website and instructions, can highly recommend.
