CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1971 Mazda (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb or on the firewall. Click here for Mazda paint code locations and a label example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1971 Mazda (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

William H, owner of a 2025 Mazda CX-90 from Spring Hill, FL

It’s way too dark and on the thick side.

John G, owner of a 2017 Mazda Mazda6 from Rohnert Park, CA

The full kit worked very well. Having base coat and a mid-coat was a difficult job. My only tip I would give others is follow the directions and concentrate on making the basecoat be perfect before using the mid coat. Let it dry at least full day before using a Fine Cut rubbing compound.

Joseph H, owner of a 2001 Mazda from Newfoundland, PA

Color matches and sprays well.
