Did not and probably would not try on horizontal surface, but on bumper (vertical surface) you must get closer than 12" to see difference between factory paint texture and repair texture. Beyond 12" can not find repair. Three coats of paint and four of spray clear coat. 2014 brand new non-metallic black Mercedes E. Front bumper scratch. Used successive coats from touch up pen to fill scratch followed by 1000 and 1200 grit paper. Then color spray. 100% exact match. Texture 99% perfect. You will need 10 things to do job right.
