To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2005 Lexus LS400, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. I had to fix a poor color match repair (rear bumper replacement) from a local body shop. My Lexus SUV has a tri-coat, they did not apply enough mid coat (white pearl) so the "repair" resulted in a obvious mismatch. After the body shop refused to even acknowledge the mismatch, I decided to order your product and fix it myself. As an ex-factory paint rep I knew how to do the repair but I no longer have access to a booth, compressor, etc. That being said, I ordered the aerosol cans for the basecoat white, mid coat pearl and the clear.
