The fold motor went out on the passenger side view mirror. So I purchased a replacement mirror assembly on ebay. All replacement mirrors are black and require painting to match the rest of the car. I wet sanded the black plastic cover with 800 grit. (the cover is the only part to require paint) I applied two coats adhesion promoter, then three coats of base color, followed by three coats of clear. After the final clear coat dried, I applied a paste wax twice. The Mirror looks like a 100% match for the rest of the car. I am very happy with the results.

The paint matched perfectly in color and sprayed out of the can in smooth strokes. Almost as good as the original. You would have to be looking for a difference to find any.
