CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 1989 Infiniti (All Models), we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. Click here for the Infiniti paint code location chart. Most Infinity cars and SUVs have a three digit paint code which can consist of numbers and letters. Sometimes a three digit paint code is followed by a space and a fourth number or letter. The three closer together is the paint code.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 1989 Infiniti (All Models) is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Tom, owner of a 2006 Infiniti G35 from Houston TX

Purchased a couple of aerosol cans of base, primer and clear. Paint matched perfectly. Only comment on the web site would be to give more information on the how to when it comes to putting on clear, what a flash is and why important and why you can't put clear on any surface not sanded. The effects how the project is set up. However, the materials are top notch. It would be helpful to show how many coats of clear or base normally needed and how much paint would be required. It takes a ton more clear than base and that it is nearly impossible to put enough clear on large surfaces without a spray gun. However, loved you product especially now that I have picked up a few tricks. [ATU Note: Flash time is an industry word for dry time. Clear coat or any paint needs to be applied over a sanded/scuffed surface because it provides mechanical adhesion as well as a chemical adhesion. Applying clearcoat and/or paint to a sanded surface is important because otherwise the paint may not stick, it also provides a smoother surface to paint on which makes the finished product look better.]

Brian B, owner of a 2006 Infiniti M35 from Chelsea, AL

Have two cars that needed minor touch ups. None of the local stores carried anything that would match. In fact, their prices were even higher than what I paid from automotive touchup. Received my order in a timely manor and they match perfect. Very happy with my order.

Jay H, owner of a 2006 Infiniti FX35 from Houston, TX
