I had a chip on the leading edge of the hood from a stone. I prepped the spot, about the size of a pea, put down a coat of primer and then three coats of base coat to bring the repair up the original paint thickness. So far it looks great as far as the color match goes. I still need to work the spot to flatten it out for an invisible repair, then apply a coat or two of clear. But I fully expect it blend right in!
