Many years ago I used to dabble in automotive restoration as a kind of hobby, and did a fair number of finish repairs as well. In the process I became pretty good at handling spray products. One thing that impressed me was the difficulty the various automotive paint suppliers had in achieving exact matches—leading to situations where I had to paint entire panels when a spot would have sufficed if the paint had only matched more precisely.
That was years ago. Much more recently I decided to save a couple of hundred bucks and do a couple of my own spot repairs on a Town and Country minivan. I ordered my paint in spray cans from Automotive Touchup. To my surprise the match was so exact that the places where the spots left off and the original finish began were impossible to detect. Since then that experience has been repeated with three other vehicles—a Dodge truck , a Toyota minivan, and a Honda CRV.
Not only did I get an exact color match in each case, but nearly no buffing was needed to achieve a professional look when I was done. While I hope not to have occasion to have to do it again, If I have to, it's nice to know a place where I can buy my materials with confidence—and at the best prices I've been able to find.

I had the typical parking lot damage that caused a large deep scrape on a front fender. The Honda corporation uses black primer under the silver blue topcoat and that makes the damage really visible. I ordered up a bottle of color and a bottle of clear coat. The car looked like almost like with just the color applied, but once the clear was applied the repair was just about invisible. This is not hard to do and saved an expensive trip to the body shop. (and I have plenty of paint left for the next time)
