CLEAR COAT IS REQUIRED WITH THIS PAINT

To ensure your paint repair blends in perfectly, you'll need to apply a clear coat over the color coat. While AutomotiveTouchup paint products are custom mixed to perfectly match the color of your 2000 Ford Taurus X, we use the same basecoat/clearcoat system as your factory specs. You can add a clear coat to your order on the next step. The color code can be located in the driver side door jamb. Click here for the Ford paint code location chart and paint code image example.

Why The Two-Step Paint System?

Your 2000 Ford Taurus X is painted at the factory with a high quality basecoat/clearcoat system. This two-step paint system consists of step one, the basecoat, which is your car’s actual color, and step two, the clearcoat, the specially formulated clear paint that protects the base color and provides the luster and deep shine your vehicle came with when new. AutomotiveTouchup products faithfully reproduce your vehicle manufacturer’s basecoat/clearcoat system.

Here's what our customers are saying about our Touch Up Paint:

Matt B, owner of a 2000 Ford F350 from Waterloo, IL

The product arrived quickly. The quality of the spray can is good (a nice fine, even spray) but the color was a tad darker than the original color of the truck. I first thought I sprayed it too heavy and that is why it was dark, but when I sprayed the inside of the new tailgate I made sure I put a lighter coat on and it was still dark. Even though the truck is a 2000 it sits in a shed most of the time, out of the sun, so I don't think the original paint is faded. The paint looks beautiful though and the price is good. Maybe the color will lighten up as it sits around.

John E, owner of a 2000 Ford F350 from Butler, TN

Having never painted anything, I used your spray cans to put a 4 color pearl paint job on a completely stripped down motorcycle. I ran out of undercoat so I tried to use another brand....... what a mistake!!! I ordered more undercoat from you and now my bike has a beautiful pearl paint job all but pros ask me who did it! I will never use anyone but Automotive Touchup products! I had no idea there was such a difference in paint quality. Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
